It’s time to take your writing seriously. It’s time to abolish your comfort zone. It’s time to bring your manuscript to the next level. This book-writing workshop is for novelists who are looking for professional support, guidance, accountability, editing and specific feedback on their work. In this novel writing course — available to those attending online or in-class — you will bypass boring reading assignments and anemic lectures. Instead, we’ll zero in on completing your novel.

Enrollment is very limited and subject to one of the three following requirements:

You’ll spend 5 weeks finishing your book by receiving professional guidance and the support of a select symposium of creative minds. You’ll receive personal instruction on how to resolve plot-point issues, flesh out characters, propel action and create conflict for your storyline. By the end of this online/in-house workshop, you will have the tools to finish your novel.

Objectives

  • Revise, complete and/or polish your novel draft so it’s ready to go to the agent/publisher
  • Enjoy guided critiques and valuable feedback from your instructor and the selected group of creatives that make up your class
  • Give critiques and feedback on the novels of your classmates
  • Learn insider tricks on how to kick writer’s block, finish your book and press “send.”

Who should take this workshop:

    • Novelists with material comprising more than 10,000 words and who want to flesh out their narratives and then receive guidance and feedback on their manuscript during the class
    • Writers who are serious about getting their book published and are ready to stop procrastinating — literary agent info is provided — and who don’t want to look like a rookie when they query an agent for representation
    • Authors who are interested in advise from a best-selling author to help polish their work

This course can be taken either completely online, physically in class or any combination of the two. Those who have already enrolled intend to either use the online attendance exclusively or as an option for the days they can’t make it. Enrollees are both local and out-of-state. The easy, low-tech tutorial modules will be distributed online, and the 2-hour Wednesday workshops will serve as a symposium on our progress. Very easy, low-tech instructions on how to attend the workshops online in real time will be available upon enrollment. It is a lively, fun, creative, action-oriented course. Enrollment is limited due to the extent of individual attention devoted to each manuscript.
