comedy classLIVE YOUR DREAM!

7–10pm, Mondays, Aug. 3–Sept. 7, with graduation rehearsal and performance on Sept. 12. Location: 878 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

Face it, you’re funny! It’s time to cash in on your talent. In this unique, professional standup class, you’ll learn precious art of developing a comfortable onstage presence, because we focus on helping you discover what makes YOU so funny!

Every one of our stand-up comedy classes are taught at a real comedy club: The Laughing Skull Lounge in Midtown (location info below). This alone goes miles in helping you get more familiar with being on stage before your graduation performance. AND, after your graduation you will be cleared carte blanche for two future open-mic spots at The Laughing Skull Lounge. This is an exclusive feature of our Atlanta comedy class: No other comedy class in Atlanta provides for additional open-mic spots after you graduate. THIS IS INVALUABLE, because the best way to learn stand-up comedy is to do it. (We like to use the analogy of golf. If you want to be a better golfer, you need lessons. But the only way to get brilliant at golf is to apply those lessons. Even Tiger Woods has a coach! So let us be your comedy coach and we guarantee you will be a better comedian because of our stand-up comedy class.)

Four More Reasons You Should Take Our Stand-Up Comedy Class:

  • It will shave years off your learning curve; helping you go further faster
  • It is a great way to learn public speaking
  • You will graduate with set of quality comedy material
  • It’s on your bucket list! Plus, you’ll impress the hell out of your friends (get ready to have that love interest see you in a new light!)

In addition, with this Atlanta STAND-UP COMEDY WORKSHOP, you’ll get:

    • Stage time every week on a real comedy club stage. (Again, no other comedy class in Atlanta offers such an opportunity for standup students)
    • An extensive 66-page workbook packed with proven formulas on how to write killer jokes
    • Easy access to your professional-comedian instructors outside of the classroom.
    • Insider knowledge of the standup comedy business from the owner of one of the best comedy clubs in the country (as stated in Sky and Esquire magazines). This is the kind of person you’ll need to approach to get stage time for your act – so learn to avoid rookie mistakes!
    • Five weeks of unbeatable ONSTAGE CLASSES

Instructors:

Marshall Chiles with Robin Williams

Marshall Chiles with Robin Williams

Marshall Chiles started out just like you. He took a stand-up comedy class, sparring with the teacher about the importance of being yourself on stage arguing with him that you only work “clean” if you yourself are “clean.” Marshall seems to have proven himself right because after graduation he went on to be one of the top comedians in Atlanta and one of the most respected businessmen in the comedy industry.

He still believes that you should be yourself and that honesty is the best policy, especially when it comes to the art of stand-up comedy. It is this level of self-integrity, plus hard work, that has risen him to the top ranks of the comedy world.

Marshall’s comedy business credits are: owner/operator of The Laughing Skull Lounge in Midtown Atlanta and The Funny Farm Comedy Club in Roswell, GA, plus he is the booker and partner in Morty’s Comedy Joint in Indianapolis, IN; the creator and producer of The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival; has been a professional international comedian since 2001; with credits of Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central.

He is uniquely able to explain the business side of comedy. He tells you his story and how he looks at comedy, the comedy business, and how to get stage time so you can get paid to do what you love.

Big Kenney is a primary player in Atlanta’s “Blacktop Improv Group,” the nation’s only improvisational comedy troupe comprised of professional black comedians.
